Her birthday celebration began on Friday: she got to wear her "birthday crown" all day at school, her little friends and teachers sang Happy Birthday to her in both English and Spanish, and we celebrated with PINK cookies for lunch (her choice, of course!!)
Yesterday (Saturday, 9/22/12, her actual birthday), we all rolled out of bed, made breakfast-to-go, and headed out to the "Castle Park" in Villa Rica. Since we were there by 8:00, we had the whole place to ourselves for almost 2 hours!! :) (please note that Nora is STILL wearing her crown!!)
We brought along our Jimmy Dean biscuits & Gatorade and grubbed out.... :)
Her little "turtle" cake....
Blowing out her candle (and holding her hair .....if THAT ball of hair caught fire, we'd be in trouble)
Now it's time to open presents!!!
Nora wanted "new dresses" for her birthday (of course), so she received one from Ella, and one from Claira. :)
Anybody who has more than one kid knows that if you get for one, you must get for ALL!! So, when we have birthdays, we generally have to buy presents for both Nora and Ella to avoid crying and what-not.....I dread the day we have to start buying THREE of everything. Anyhoo, both girls got new movies (and YES that IS the old "Willa Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" ~ they LOVE that movie!!)
And they each got new bathing suits for our beach trip in two weeks!!!
Finally, it was off to play!! We love sitting back and listening to their little imaginations play out.....the castle park is PERFECT for their girlie interests and drama. :)
Claira just had to hang around and watch, but she's okay with that....maybe next year, she can run around, too!!
She also got to eat....
.....and go to sleep....her favorite thing to do (mine, too!!)
In the meantime, Nora and Ella really dug the "motorcycle."
And once again, no outing is complete without a dance.
EVERYWHERE.WE.GO. SERIOUSLY.
Nora kept having to pause to take birthday calls from her friends and family. She felt very loved. :)
So, today, we are preparing for the PARTY!! We thought Sunday would be better to party since it wouldn't interfere with baseball schedules and FOOTBALL and such. Nora is very ready (she's bouncing off the walls). Stay tuned for some party fun.....:)
Six years.....unbelievable.
