For the second year in a row, we spent Spring Break in one of our new favorite beaches, CAPE SAN BLAS!!! The girls were so excited to enter our cute little house and see their loft!!
But of course, we immediately dropped our things and headed straight to the beach!!
Finally, after getting settled in, I drew a bath for Claira. I kept yelling and yelling for her, but she never came. Here's why....they were fascinated by the washing machine. At least she got as far as removing her clothes for the bath. #watchingthewasherfordays
Next day, beach allllllll day!!
Checking out the birds:
Henboy. The biggest beach bum of all.
Constant dance party. Constant.
After coming home to take a little nap.....
....we headed over near the air force base to journey through the driftwood.
"Look, Mommy! I found a mermaid tail!"
Ella - the clam whisperer:
Next morning, we headed out to catch the sunrise. Still in same clothes from last night!! #realtalk
Finally see that sun peaking through a bit:
Litte bitty Clairy. Big ol' sun.
Annual sun picture with Daddy and his girls (but please check out his awesome "strip" of sunburn. Way to apply the sunscreen, Pops.)
Another great day on the Cape. Perfect day for flying kites (Star Wars kite, of course)......
....playing in the sand.....
.....feeding the birds.....
.....and fishing!! Even for baby sharks!!!
Baby sharks won't stop these kids from catching some waves!!
Evening beach vibes:
One of our favorite experiences of the trip (and of a lifetime) was being able to ride horses on the beach!!
Clairy and Ella rode "Shelly." Sweetest thing:
Nora rode "Grace." Perfect name for her!!
Here they go!!
Daddy and I didn't ride (this time), but we had to get a few pictures with the sweet creatures:
Clairy giving Shelly a little pet :)
Loving on their sweet horses after the ride:
We also had some yummy oysters and shrimp at Coneheads!!
Daddy tried so hard to get Clairy to try an oyster. How bout nur. Look at her little nostrils flairing:
Anybody else have to do the "snake" with their straw paper?? The kids force us to do this at EVERY.RESTAURANT.WE.GO.
A little ice cream for dessert:
And of course, a vacation wouldn't be complete without a dance party in public. Daddy loves to show off his killer moves:
If we weren't on the beach or stuffing our faces, I, of course, was working on my puzzle. Vacations aren't complete without a puzzle:
We also did some reading and game-playing....
....and just acted goofy, per usual.
Of course on our last day, I made the family get color-coordinated (sort of) so we could get some mandatory vacation photos!!
I'll leave you with one last sunrise. They were absolutely stunning:
You know it's a good sunrise when even the dog jumps for the picture!!
And there you have it!! Another wonderful Spring Break for the books!! Cape San Blas is filled with a whole lot of nothing which is JUST what we need from time to time!! There is beauty and serenity in nothingness.
Cheers to the Cape: the gift of nothing!!!
