Ella's ER Experience :(

So, Sunday night was eventful. We winded up spending 4+ hours at the hospital with what we thought was a fractured foot for Ella. She had been jumping off the bottom basement stair onto a beanbag chair (very random, I know), and her poor little ankle twisted and POPPED!!! She could not place any pressure on it, and would scream bloody-murder if she did. By the grace of God, it's only a sprain, but it was definitely an adventure to the Douglas General ER:

We stayed in the waiting room for about 2 hours, but Ella thought her bracelets were very groovy:

And we FINALLY got a room..... (she looks so tiny here)

And she was the bravest little trooper when we had to step out of the room so that she could get her X-rays.

Then, we waited ANOTHER 2 hours in the room. Ella got very bored, so she practiced her skills....

She decided to sing the doctor a song (telling him to COME ON!!)......in SPANISH!!!

The ONLY time she got upset was when she wanted to "spend the night with Grandmama" (of course, she got her wish)...

FINALLY, the doctor came in to let us know that there were NO BREAKS (praise Jesus!), and they wrapped her ankle for more support. She also took some Motrin that she said was, "Way GROSS."

I tried to bribe Ella to just come home with me and we'd get some Dairy Queen on the way home, but her response was, "No, Mommy. I'll just go with Grandmama....we'll do ice cream another night." :/
Lea texted me this picture at about 10 pm.....she's a happy gal at Grandmama's house.

I thank the lucky stars and guardian angels above that her foot was not more serious. It's only Tuesday, and her ankle is now as good as new.

Here's hopes for NO MORE EMERGENCY ROOMS for a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng time!!

Our first big boo-boo.....:/
