Father's Day was extra-special for Daddy this year because it was also his birthday!! A double-special day for a TRIPLE-special Daddy!! We celebrated the day before (Saturday), with the family at Grandmommy's & Paw's:
Ice-cream cake....is there any other option??
Singing to the birthday boy:
Sharing with Paw:
The little Nezlets snuck away for a little bit to "play," and came back with a homemade banner, cards, and flowers (off of Grandmommie's hydrangea bush - HA!) to celebrate the fathers that make our world go round. So precious!!
Little minion:
The next morning (actual Father's Day/birthday), we had coffee on the porch while the girls gave their daddy his presents that they each picked out just for him:
The gifts: a "gone hunting" gnome from Ella, a can of Barbasol shaving cream from Claira, and a knee brace for back pain from Nora, all wrapped up in a Star Wars bag :) Each picked with love :)
Making Daddy a funfetti birthday cake:
The finished product (Claira bakes topless.....just so you know). :)
Since it was Daddy's day, he got to pick what we did all day long, and of course, he wanted to spend all day at the lake....first with a little swimming:
A little lunch at the marina:
My kids eat hot wings like there's no tomorrow:
And, we spent the evening on the boat:
(Clairy's face....she was bit cold). :)
Of course, a daily dance party:
We knew we were done when Claira said, "I'm just gonna put on my glubs (gloves) and go to sleep."
All in all, it was truly a relaxing, BEAUTIFUL day spent with our little family. Happy Father's Day and Happy Birthday to the best Daddy around!!
Little girls need a great Daddy. I think that's why God gave this guy so many :)
Be on your guard; stand firm in faith; be courageous; be strong. ~ 1 Corinthians 16:13
One verse that describes this Daddy to to T. Such a loving but strong man, even when he spends 24/7 with a bunch of hens like us!! We love and appreciate you more than can be put into words.
Cheers to you, Josh!! And to all the amazing daddies!!
