We had a wonderful time celebrating her birthday. We were able to have her party on her actual birthday (Sunday, June 22nd). From the minute she woke up, she was very excited to be two:
We had just a little "mini-get-together" with the immediate family. Matt and Anna and fam were in St. George (what a bunch of beach bums). :) We missed them, but were very thankful that the grandparents, along with Lea and Zach, could come to party. We decided to make it a boat-celebration, and party on the little island of Lake Tara. :) Here's her little invite we sent to the fam:
When everyone arrived, Clairy went straight for the gifts. Priorities, people!! She loved her new bathing suits, hairbows (that she DESPERATELY needs.....Nora's and Ella's hair always grew in the form of a globe, so I don't know how to handle this "hair in the eyes" thing). Thanks to Lea and Grandmommie for hooking us up with all the sweet Kid-to-Kid bows....those are the BEST!! :)
I think Claira's favorite for the day was her new fishing pole that Grandmama gave her.....she played with it so much that she broke it within the first hour.....it's now taped back together with scotch tape, but she still loves it!! :)
Another big hit was the new Minnie Mouse potty that actually applauds when you flush it! I'm so proud to say that Clairy is officially USING it.....of course, she's still not opposed to taking a big whiz and/or dump on the floor, but ya know, progress!!
It's go time!!
We first traveled over the to island to have all our birthday festivities!!! :) It was a little picnic-party:
The special bond of "Clairy and Bobby." That little "E-Bobs" is by her baby sister's side at all times. :) Makes my heart melt.
Daughters/sisters are tough, and come with A LOT of drama. A.LOT.
Josh and I were talking just the other day how we had imagined our life with little boys. But holy moly, God knew what He was doing. These gals will be eternal best friends.
Time for cake.....er, actually, they were mustache-cupcakes!!! :)
Happy birthday to youuuuuuuu!!
Making a wish, and blowing them out!!! I think she wished for a new puppy....(stay tuned)....:)
Such yummy mustache-cupcakes!!! :)
Now that our bellies were full, we were ready to get this party started!!
It doesn't take long before a little lake water knocks Clairy OUT!!
While she slept, the party REALLY started!! We busted out the ropes and floats!!!
The girls wore the solar goggles to keep the water and sun out of their eyes....I definitely needed a pair, too!!! :)
Meanwhile, Clairy slept through all the shenanigans....with Grandmommie's hat on her face. :)
Even my sweet, little middle-aged Mama took a ride. :)
Eh....she had a little trouble getting aboard.....
....but eventually proved that age ain't nuttin' but a number. :)
Paw took a small dip in the lake, but it looks like he urinated on himself, so of course, I had to post this one. :)
Such FUN TIMES!!!!
Claira finally woke up about two hours later once the party was almost OVER. Oh, well. We celebrated her well while she snoozed away.
So grateful for this beautiful, fiesty 2-year-old that rocks our world every single minute of every single day.
Such a perfect day. Reminds me of some of my favorite lyrics to one of my favorite songs: "Groovin'...on a Sunday afternoon. Doin'....anything we like to do."
Love you, Clairy Berry. "You and me endlessly....Groovin'" :)
