Thanksgiving 2012

Well, I put on 6 lbs. over Thanksgiving Break, so I guess that means that Thanksgiving was a SUCCESS!! :) It all started the Friday before the break.....when you see the kindergartners coming down the hall dressed like turkeys and Native Americans, you know it's time to GO!!!! :)

It's so nice to have a whole week off for Thanksgiving!! Earlier in the week, we put up our tree (which needs its own blog), celebrated Mama's birthday (Fifty-Three, and feeling Spunk-EEE), and I actually ventured out to my first-EVER Black Friday experience!! It was crazy, but I got allllllll my shopping done!! WINNING!!

On Thanksgiving Day, we had lunch with Grandma and the family. Grandma always knows how to feed us right. :) Of course, Clairy went right for Paw-Paw....he's one of her favs!!

Then, she partied with Grandma and Matthew....
....and then loved on Grandmommie until she passed out!!
After all the grubbin,' the big kids played a little "foosball" with stuffed bellies...
After ensuring that we had our leftover-container "packed to the max" with Grandma's food, we headed over to Grandmama's to have dinner with her, Lea, and Slaten. Slaten greeted us with his awesome skills..
After munching for a bit (since we were already stuffed to our limits), we played outside a bit. We jumped (I can't believe we didn't have any turkey-VOM  after a day of gluttony followed by football and trampoline)...
.....and we swang, apparently.
And we took some "serious" pictures.
.....and we just hung out and enjoyed each other. :)
The next day (after surviving the Black Friday morning madness), we went over to Papa's to celebrate with all the Nesbitts!!! Thanksgiving always starts with a prayer, and a pull of the wishbone to determine if Tech or Georgia will win on Saturday.....Tech won (not). The wishbone was VERY accurate this year!! :(
Uncle Rob (in his Duck Dynasty shirt) led the shouting match between Georgia and Tech....we are a house divided...
Some of our favorite things: Family and FOOD!!!
Four generations of Nesbitts!! From the eldest to the youngest...
Yeah, I foresee trouble with these two in the near future....they're already schemin'!!
That night, the kids and Scott went out to do some sort of "Punkin-Chunkin" or something-or-another....????
But I think they just winded up with a "Pumpkin Explosion" :)

But good times, nevertheless!!

Of course, we truly missed Grandmother and Mammie!! They each knew how to make the holidays so special! Still, we rejoice in their memories, and are grateful that they both are in perfect paradise and peace. Plus, I bet Jesus serves a pretty bangin' turkey! :)

So very grateful for so very much!!

Thank you, Lord,
for my countless
and undeserving blessings!!

Randon Friday Fun~ness

Most Friday nights, Nora, Ella, & Lilah spend the night over at Grandommie's & Paw-Paw's house. This gives us time to really hang out with Claira. She has become a vocal little one, and she is getting to the age where we are finally able to truly PLAY with her!! Here's two videos of her and Daddy being silly last Friday night. Her laugh is kinda "half laugh/half scream" :)

ENTITLED "Phatty McGee"

This next one might be one of my favorites for years to come....I don't know who's funnier......Daddy or Claira :)
ENTITLED "I Want Some Toe"

So, what else is Clairy-Berry up to (besides eating toes)?? She's rolling, bouncing in her bouncer, playing in her exer-saucer, working on the word "Ma-Ma," loving PEAS, slobbering everywhere, sleeping like a champ.....

......and being the SWEETEST BABY on the face of the planet.

Seriously. :)

Nora's PTO Performance

Last week, the kindergartners performed at PTO. They sang sweet little songs to show what they've learned in both English and Spanish. Thankfully, Nora was on the very end, so it was very easy to see her!!  :) Here's a little clip of one of her Spanish songs....

Their "grand finale" was the "Continent Drift" which was really hilarious.....a bunch of 5- and 6-year-olds doing moves such as "Jump, jump, wiggle your rump, and walk it out like Granny!"
Enjoy some pictures of our little performer....
Terrance, Annabelle, and Faryn also rocked it out.....

The teachers had to keep the little ones in check by singing and dancing along. :)
The audience was VERY impressed. :) :) :)
Here's Grandmama, Lea, and friends Ciara and Melissa...
 Grandmommie & Ella.....

 Mama & Claira
Some of the newest "teacher babies" - Claira, Haley, & Audrey....
Daddy & Paw-Paw weren't pictured too much because they were the photographers/videographers of the night. Nora finally caught on that Paw-Paw was filming at the end of the show....

After the show, we all celebrated with a little Monterrey's Mexican food......YUM. We, then, realized that all the grandparents were dressed in purple. They must have planned that in advance.
They had a Mariachi Band there that was phenomenal.....they played a little Johnny Cash, Jimmy Buffet, Michael Jackson, you name it....
Such a fun-filled and special night. We are so proud of our little "performer." She will be some sort of musical entertainer one day. She loves singing, dancing, and music in general.

Cheers to "little performances" that mean sooooooo much!!! ;)

Nora goes HUNTING!!!

Josh is an avid deer-hunter, and is generally referred to as the "Deer Slayer" (except for this year.....all he's been killing is TIME). :) Nora recently asked if she could "go hunting with Daddy." Grandmommie went out and got Nora her own camo, and she went on her first hunting experience with Daddy last Sunday. :)

They started their "hunt" up in the tree-stand...

Then, they got down on the ground because Nora wanted to "go in the woods."

She knew she had to be very quiet so the deer would come (yes, that's a tattoo). :)

They stayed until dark, and then Nora heard a squirrel nearby and got a little freaked out. When she got home, she said, "I LOVED it. I'll go back when I'm 11!!" :)

I didn't realize until they got home that Nora had rocked her pink leopard-print boots the entire time. :)

She must've gotten over the "squirrel-scare" because she's asking daily when she can go back. :)

Daddy's new huntin'-buddy.

Bonfire!!!!

Let's face it, the greatest thing about Election Day (despite the right to vote, liberty, freedom, and all that jazz) is NO SCHOOL!!!! :) The night before election day, we celebrated with a bonfire....eh, well, more like BARREL-fire.....at Mama's house. :) The "adults" decided to wear our Falcons attire to support our undefeated team.....
But evidently, Mama didn't get that memo....
She was just happy wearing her large Minnie Mouse sweatshirt, apparently. :) I swear, she would play in a fire all night long if we'd let her. She has said before that she wished that a "fire-builder" was an actual occupation.
We put hotdogs on sticks, and "cooked" up some chili-slaw-dogs. :)
I don't know why Josh purposely burns his dogs to a crisp. Every single time. Yuk.
After grubbing some chili-slaw-dogs, Lea felt the need to ......just dance. So, we turned up the radio, and she went at it....
She gave Josh an "up-close" encounter of her mad skills. :)
She also taught Nora some smooth moves....(Please NOTE goober's face in the background....)
Finally, Josh just could NOT HANDLE IT any longer. He had to get up and take part in the dance party. He and Lea re-enacted "The Proposal" :)
FROM THE WINDOWWWW........TO DA WALLLLLLL.......
These two are just BAD together. Really. :)
In the meantime, the girls roamed around in their tutu's and short pants (they opted to dress themselves as opposed to wearing Falcons gear....what do ya do??)
Matthew & Ciara stopped by, so they played with them for a bit.....
 (no words, just awesomeness)
They ended the night with some "jumpoline" (loaded with a bajillion leaves).
Clairy-Berry pretty much just slept through the whole thing (What's new??) :)
Can't have a fire without some S'Mores!! Perfect way to end a goofy night with some of my favorite goofy people.
After voting the next day, we laid on the couch ALL.DAY.LONG and watched 80's movies (these included "Honey, I Shrunk the Kids" and "Beetlejuice"). Since it was FREEZING and raining, it was a perfect day to lay around, watch cheesey movies, and keep up with the presidential polls (despite the fact that Josh and I would rather eat a box of hair than discuss politics, we were quite pleased with the outcome of the day). :)

With Thanksgiving NEXT WEEK (wait.....wha???), I've been reflecting a lot on what I'm thankful for (which I always tend to do this time of year). While I am ever-so-grateful for MUCH, I am mostly thankful for....

......my FUN FAMILY. :)
