SNOW!!!!!

Georgia has had it's fair share of snow this year (and it looks like it's not over yet!!)
Our first round of snow in mid-December was "interesting" to say the least. It started pretty heavy during the school day which once again ALMOST got us stranded at school like the "Snowmaggedon" a few years back. But thankfully, we all made it home safe and sound (Daddy came and picked our crew up with his 4-wheel drive, so the ol' van was housed at SDES for 4 days along with a million other vehicles).
By the time we got home and relaxed a little, we were able to enjoy the snow coming down:
By the time we woke up the next morning, we realized that our power was out. We thought, "Eh, no big deal. It should come back on any minute...."
So, we went out and enjoyed the beauty:
We enjoyed a little bit of play time (not too much since there wasn't a way to warm back up---no electric blankets, no hot water, just the fire that was running low on wood). But still, fun times!!
If you look at our patio table, you can see how much snow we got - some areas were around 18 inches!!
Avalanche!!! The snow in the trees likes to fall all at once!!
Henry tries so hard to be "majestic" in the snow, but he just looks like an off-balanced kangaroo....
A little sledding fun:
Snowangels and Snowmen:
Coming in to warm up by the fire (and praying for the power to return):
Buttttttttttt, the next morning, we woke and discovered there was STILL no power!!!! Aaaagh!
Daddy made coffee on the grill (desperate times call for desperate measures):
We made some snow ice cream....
And tried to warm up by the sun on the porch:
Not a lot of playing in the snow on day 2 - we were just trying to keep warm!! (You could see our breath inside the house!!!) So, we just cuddled (and whined) until nightfall.....STILL.NO.POWER!!
Thankfully, the laptops still had battery so we could charge our phones and the kids could type some stories. They were so desperate for electronics that the typing actually seemed fun to them!! :) HA!
I kept my favorite house-shoes on for 2 days straight - even slept in them!!
Even little Hen was freezing :(
When we woke up the following morning, there was
STILL
NO
POWER!!! AAAAAAAHHH!!
Our fridge had almost completely thawed out, so we placed our essentials (wine and coffee creamer) in the snow.
It finally melted enough for Daddy to shovel us out  and we busted outta there and headed over to Lea's. A hot shower had NEVER felt so good!! As luck would have it, our power came back on while we were at Lea's house. We literally jumped and screamed "Hallelujah!!"

We had even MORE SNOW two weeks ago!! This time, it was much more enjoyable because our power stayed on the entire time!! Thank you, Lord!! Not to mention, this snow closed down school for 3 days!!!
So of course, a'sledding we will go!!!
Even the old-timers joined in on the sledding fun this time!!
Henboy watched from afar, begging for his own sled :(
So happy to finally enjoy the snow while knowing that can go in to warm back up!!!! We're just so spoiled with all this hot water and electric heat and whatnot.....
Blowing bubbles is fun in the snow!! The bubbles freeze, and instead of popping, they kinda explode and shatter! Pretty cool!!
It was really nice to have a few unexpected days off with this guy:
So grateful for some snow fun this year!!

Cheers to snow fun.....but most importantly, cheers to electricity. Electricity is nice!!
