Christmas 2017 was probably one of the most memorable Christmases EVER!! We got Grandmama moved into her new home next door on Christmas Eve-Eve (blog post to come), and we just all had a glorious time of laughter, and celebrating new beginnings!
Every Christmas Eve morning, the girls wake up to a special "treat" from the elves. This is the only day of the year the girls get to touch Jo-Jo and Jessie, so they are eager to wake up and play with them (maybe that's why they woke up at 5 am!!!!) Anyhoo, they were happy to see that the elves left some "elfie clothes" to play in for the day - they must've been a little chilly.
After playing for a bit, we headed to the early candlelit service at church:
The girls were so thrilled to be on the "big screen" with Pastor Todd while singing some of their favorite Christmas songs:
Such a beautiful service!!
After church, we headed home to exchange gifts with Lea, Brett, & Grandmama:
Sooooo excited!!
Loving their new onesies and monogrammed shirts from Lea!!
Giant kisses (and possessed children):
SLIME!!! slime, slime, slime....it's taking over the earth!!
Bobby's present from us!! She's been shooting with Daddy a bit, and is actually pretty good!! Just call her Ralphie:
ANOTHER baby doll for Clairy. She needs that like she needs the flu.
These "body-bubbles" actually made my Christmas!!! Just wait for the video.....
The "adults" played a new game this year with some dice, oven mitts, and gag gifts!!
Daddy scored a giant pez-minion:
Lea won a puppy massager and ear-wax remover:
Brett scored a "coin-slot" (HA!!)
Grandmama won a "wine-wizzer"
And I scored a giant box of TP (which Daddy was actually very excited about!!)
We also played the white-elephant game, but we all winded up buying the exact same gifts!! Body massagers and lotto tickets!!! How does that even happen?!?!
Great minds think alike!!
That evening, we put on our PJs and headed to Grandmommie's and Paw's for our annual Christmas Eve shenanigans. Paw greeted the kids in typical fashion....
Sweetest little Christmas picture on Grandmommie's tree:
Clairy's Christmas is MADE now that Matthew's in the house!!
Food & Fam:
Grandmommie: Always the hostess with the mostest!
T-R-O-U-B-L-E
Our Nezlets:
Present Time!!! Woooohooooo!
Grandmommie's special gift to the big girls:
Fingerlings!!!
We came home and got ready for Santa to arrive. The girls spent the night with Grandmama and Lea next door (a new tradition!) so that Santa could come "whenever he wanted" :)
Santa sure did deliver!! The girls must've been pretty good this year!!
What's in the giant box??
Well, it's a purple trampoline, of course!! With a hand-written note from SC himself!!
So, virtual reality is nuts:
But, the Christmas Karaoke was a definite highlight of the morning:
Lea sang ALLL MORNINGGGG LONGGGG.
.....still singing....
3.5 hours later.....
Daddy & Grandmama working hard to make us a Christmas breakfast, as usual!! Grits casserole is where it's AT!!!
After stuffing our faces and getting some rest, we headed over to "Uncle George's" for the night, but like a lame-o, I forgot my camera. :( BUT, we had lots of laughs and good food in their new, beautiful home!!
Since then, the girls have LOVED their trampoline, and have called it "the best present ever." So, thanks, Santa!! They jump on it EVERY.SINGLE.DAY!!
And all the love that make the days so merry and bright!!
