The Legends of Sleepy Hollow!!

Last weekend, we headed over to the Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Patch to pick a groovy pumpkin. Sleepy Hollow was the perfect name because in our class, we recently had a book study about The Legends of Sleepy Hollow, so Nora was a little EXTRA stoked to go!!!

When we got there, we had to pet the sweet animals, especially Priscilla the pig. She was a cutie!!
 The bunnies were cute, too!!
 After a few photo-ops....
.....we headed down the dirt road to aboard our tractor ride!! (Thankfully, we had our big coats in the car....it goes from summer to winter around these parts!!)
All aboard the tractor!!
Here's Nora's progression of me telling her that we might run into Ichabod Crane or the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow:
We never found the Headless Horseman, but we did find acres and acres of Christmas trees!! We may have to come cut one down this year. My secret Christmas dream is to become the Griswalds!!
The tractor dropped us off at the corn maze:
We finally found our way through, and played for a bit at the pumpkin patch!!
Finally, it was time to get down and dirty and find our pumpkin:
 Daddy chose this "pumpkin" #dummy
Nora chose the one that looked like a phone (or big banana).
But, we finally all agreed upon a big, jolly pumpkin!!
Getting back on the tractor to head back to the front:
Daddy carrying our big, jolly pumpkin!! It's about 4 times the size of his head, so you KNOW it's big and jolly!!
We had to check out the animals one last time before we left.....
.....especially Priscilla the pig. We just couldn't get enough of her!!
Before leaving, we shopped in the little country store. I loved this sign (should've bought it.....one of my favorite sayings by one of my favorite people).

Daddy bought some muscadine cider.....
.....and the girls picked out some home-made candles that smelled oh-so-good!!!
I'll leave you with the entire crew!! The pillow on the "hay couch" says THANKFUL. The only word for this season, this sweet family, and God's Grace that carries us daily!!

Cheers to perfect pumpkins and headless horsemen!!
