Now that it is officially FALL (and I'm loving every minute of it!!), I need to do a recap of some summer awesomeness that we had this past season. Of course, we spent a lot of time on the boat:
Boat Fun
We parked at the "island" several times to let Henry run free for a while :)
No day is complete without a cartwheel.....
....or a worm....
....or a striking of a pose!!!
(Or two....)
(Or three....) :)
We floated.....
(Henry wanted to get in so badly, but he's learned not to jump without his life jacket. He's a sinker.)
We also did a lot of fishing. This is the first year that Clairy caught some fishies all by herself!!
Henry's intrigued...
Trying to bait another hook :)
Bike Riding
We also did some bike riding on the GreenBelt!! Nora has become a speed demon on her bike!!
Ella's training wheels are coming off soon!!
Geez...
Another speed demon....
Castle Park
Since the GreenBelt leads to our favorite park ever, we stopped off to play for a while (or in Clairy's case, NAP....)
My biggest kid....
Claira finally woke up to join the fun!
Good grief.
Home-Made Slip-N-Slide
Nothing like some plastic, water, and soap!!! :)
Our little friends, the rabbits, watched us all day long. Can you see them?? Cute little guys. Mama's yard is home to about a bajillion of them:
Library Fun
We spent a lot of time at the library this summer doing the "Be a Reading Hero" projects:
Clairy was proud of her artwork!!
One task that they had to to was "go on a nature walk and take notes:"
They also had to create a puppet show and perform it. It was simply amazing (note sarcasm):
They even had to make a blog entry about a book!! They were so excited to type on "Mommy's Blog." Of course, they would choose the book Farty Marty to respond to (they are their father's children):
Blogging away:
Nora's entry:
Farty Marty is a farting cat. When he ate Italian, he farted Italian music. He was famos for his farting talents. If my cat was like Farty Marty, I would be a little confused.
Ella's entry:
Farty Marty toots when ever he eat some thing. every one at school thinked that he was a
skunk and he became Fames!
And of course, we read tons of books! The program required us to read books in very different settings, like outside, in the dark with a flashlight, in a car, and all over the place:
To reward the kids for all of their hard work, they provided a groovy magic show (even Mama and Daddy were impressed!!):
And the girls got to redeem their "Book Bucks" for all of their efforts!!
Matthew's 3rd Birthday
We also got to celebrate our favorite nephew turning the big 3!! Nothing like a POOL PARTY!! I was a lame-o and forgot my camera, but I did snap a cute one of the cute cousins:
Slumber Party with "Uncle George"
We also had a slumber party with McKayla over at "Uncle George's" house!! We had a blast! Once again, I was lame and forgot the camera, but he did teach us how to catch an opossum with a shopping cart (leave it to Gerald.....he's one in a million). :)
And there you have it!! Another summer for the books!! Summer' lovin, having a blast.....summer lovin' happened so fast!!
Cheers to summer fun!!! (Bring on the FALL!!)
