As you may have seen from our "Wedding Renewal" blog a few posts back, Josh and I recently traveled to Vegas to celebrate our 10-year wedding anniversary!! It was our first time visiting Vegas, and we had an absolute BLAST!!!!! Here's a little snippet of our time there. First off, Josh is not the fondest of airplanes.....he prays throughout the entire trip. Not to say that I blame him, it just cracks me up. Here he is listening to the flight directions VERY CAREFULLY :)
He calmed down once we saw all of the neato views, especially the views of the deserts:
Needless to say, he was VERY happy once we landed and got to our casino. We stayed at Excalibur, which is a medieval-themed castle. Very neato!!!
Since it was literally 104-degrees, we hit-up the pool. All I'm gonna say about this picture is....what happens in Vegas STAYS in Vegas.... :)
Anyone who knows us knows what early-birds we are. We generally go to bed pretty early and get up at the butt-crack of dawn. Vegas is 3 hours behind Atlanta, and we just couldn't shake our old time. So, we'd get up at 4:00 or 5:00 am, grab a Starbucks and hit the slots.....most people were still up from the night before, eating dinner and partying away. We're such losers. Don't care. :)
Being up so early gave us advantages to all the slots......WINNING!!!
Plus, being up so early lets us go check out the sights before the big crowds and BIG HEAT start rolling in :) Here's our hotel, Excalibur:
One of my favorite hotel casinos was New York, New York.....equipped with Lady Liberty, and a rollercoaster!!
The inside casino looks like you are truly on the streets of New York!! Even equipped with Hershey's chocolate factories!! Heaven!!
Another favorite was the Paris casino:
Inside, you could see the "legs" of the Eiffel Tower. :)
The Venetian was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!!
The ceilings threw us off.....was it day?? Night?? Who knew?? No wonder people stay up all night gambling!!
All of the casinos were equipped with their own shopping malls. This one promoted some "Venetian Art"......ummm, no.
Groovy little boat-rides that toured inside and outside of the resort:
We also visited the Mirage.....Siegfried & Roy's lion enjoyed Joshua's head. :)
Roulette was OUR GAME!! My "big win" was winning $51 on the number 13!! Winner, winner, chicken dinner!!!
One of our favorite visits was to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum. You can tell by my first picture with Johnny that the wax people kinda freaked us out a little bit.....some of them are so life-like and/or downright creepy.
Jamie....
Josh and Sandra....just so everyone knows, two of his favorite movies are "Hope Floats" and "Miss Congeniality." No lie.
The Rock.
Bruce
Josh and his infatuation, Angelina. How funny, cause anyone who knows me knows that Brad Pitt is MY MAN. They had a wax figure of him also, but it didn't hold a candle to his beauty...
Josh and his buddy, Hugh. :)
Reminding Ben to call me....
Britt
Don't really know who this is.....Joe Dimagio??? (sp??)
Floatin' like a butterfly.....he knows what's up.
Josh is amazed that the put "pit hair" on Shaq....
Babe
Wanna be like Mike!!
Puttin' with Tiger...
Giving my view on world peace to Oprah...
Playing a few notes with Stevie.
He was literally drooling.
Poor Bey:
Me and Snoop....is he really this tall?!?!
Simon totally approved.
I was totally PO'd about my "baby-daddy" results :)
Prince. YASSSSSS!!
Gonna get in the hot tub!!
OK. Day = MADE!!!!
Josh was pretty stoked.
Watching a movie with Will.
Me, taking a picture of Liz:
Goodfellas....
....and cowboys....
.....and Terminators!!
The Hangover.
See if you can spot the wanker..... :)
Josh had a battle with the Hulk....
...but he lost. :(
So much fun sight-seeing after the wax museum!!
On our final day, we made our way to dinner, and met up with the real-life Lt. Dangle (and if you don't know who that is, you need to know!!) He made my day!!!
After a yummy dinner at the Vegas PF Chang's, we headed over to the Bellagio.
That ceiling...
We felt like Alice in Wonderland.
We watched the Bellagio watershow. Unreal :)
The next morning, we took an early flight home. We were ITCHING to get back to these lovelies!!!
So much fun celebrating 10 years!!
Cheers to Sin City!!
