Halloween Fifteen!!

Well, we have another Halloween for the books!! Halloween '15 was such a fun time for the whole family!! Of course, we had to kick off the festivities by carving our jolly pumpkin!!
We're ready!!
It's my job to draw the face....
.....and Daddy's job to carve it!! It was extra juicy this year!!
Diggin' in for the guts!!
The annual "vom" picture :)
Someone was excited to feel the pumpkin this year!!
Henry enjoyed some pumpkin, too!!
Like a complete doofus, I didn't get a picture of our final product. My brain is mush. But, I DID get a picture of the girls with their new Halloween dental-work!! :)
On Halloween day, Grandmama and Lea came over - Lea helped the girls put on make-up, and Grandmama made some s'more dip!!
I present to you Minnie Mouse, Cinderella, and Zomberina (half zombie, half ballerina)!
Where's the bacon??

Pig and bacon (Before and after)
A few more of our fancies....
Grandmama (the cowgirl) and her grands:
Lea was "Chuckie." Wanna playyyy???
All the gals:
Our crew:
We finally made it over to Grandmommie's and Paw's house!! Trick or Treat!!
The poor bacon kept having wardrobe malfunctions. He's such a trooper!!
We played for a bit, ate lots of candy, and watched the Tech game before heading out to trick or treat!!
Matthew was Chewbacca!!
And Lilah was Katniss from the Hunger Games:

Putting together our new Halloween tents for the kiddos:
They surprised me with a groovy cookie cake for my 34th!! :) Eeeeeeee!!
And everyone sang "Happy Birthday!!" I feel special. :)

Finally, it was time to go our and get some loot!!
This picture is blurry, but hilarious!! A vampire greeted the girls to give them some candy, and it scared Claira out of her wits. Uncle Matt tried to rescue her, but there was no turning back!!
After a while, Ella and Matthew started to feel a little under the weather, so they came back to Grandmommie's to help pass out candy:
I'll leave you with this: Every year around this time, Gato gets attacked or hurt by SOMETHING (he's using up his 9 lives very quickly!!) This year, he was bitten in the face by a poisonous snake and has lost 90% of the hair on his face. He looks awful....straight out of pet cemetery. We fixed that problem!! Happy Halloween from Bat-Cat!!

TRICK OR TREAT!!

Cheers to Halloween '15!!

Tooth Update for Ella!!

You may have seen from a recent post that Ella has lost all of her 6 snaggle teeth within this year!!
Well, now we're up to 7!! She pulled this one on her own at school!! Thanks for the baggie, Mrs. Escobar!! (I think she was giving her best "Monster Face") :)
Where does she get such a great monster face from?? She's been practicing since age 1.....

Cheers to more snaggles and monster faces!!

The Legends of Sleepy Hollow!!

Last weekend, we headed over to the Sleepy Hollow Pumpkin Patch to pick a groovy pumpkin. Sleepy Hollow was the perfect name because in our class, we recently had a book study about The Legends of Sleepy Hollow, so Nora was a little EXTRA stoked to go!!!

When we got there, we had to pet the sweet animals, especially Priscilla the pig. She was a cutie!!
 The bunnies were cute, too!!
 After a few photo-ops....
.....we headed down the dirt road to aboard our tractor ride!! (Thankfully, we had our big coats in the car....it goes from summer to winter around these parts!!)
All aboard the tractor!!
Here's Nora's progression of me telling her that we might run into Ichabod Crane or the Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow:
We never found the Headless Horseman, but we did find acres and acres of Christmas trees!! We may have to come cut one down this year. My secret Christmas dream is to become the Griswalds!!
The tractor dropped us off at the corn maze:
We finally found our way through, and played for a bit at the pumpkin patch!!
Finally, it was time to get down and dirty and find our pumpkin:
 Daddy chose this "pumpkin" #dummy
Nora chose the one that looked like a phone (or big banana).
But, we finally all agreed upon a big, jolly pumpkin!!
Getting back on the tractor to head back to the front:
Daddy carrying our big, jolly pumpkin!! It's about 4 times the size of his head, so you KNOW it's big and jolly!!
We had to check out the animals one last time before we left.....
.....especially Priscilla the pig. We just couldn't get enough of her!!
Before leaving, we shopped in the little country store. I loved this sign (should've bought it.....one of my favorite sayings by one of my favorite people).

Daddy bought some muscadine cider.....
.....and the girls picked out some home-made candles that smelled oh-so-good!!!
I'll leave you with the entire crew!! The pillow on the "hay couch" says THANKFUL. The only word for this season, this sweet family, and God's Grace that carries us daily!!

Cheers to perfect pumpkins and headless horsemen!!
